Museum & Park Passes

Use your library card to explore local museums and attractions as well as South Carolina’s 47 state parks — all for free!

Passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Search for a pass below, then call the branch that has the pass to confirm availability. Reserve passes over the phone for same-day pick up during Library System operating hours, or visit in person.


 

RMSC Family Pass

Sat, Jul 27 will be the last day to use the Family Pass until Sep 14.

  • One-time use pass admits two adults and up to six children ages 18 and under.
  • Checkout is for one week with no renewals.
  • Must be checked out on a Greenville County Adult or Non-Resident Adult card.
  • Reserve for same-day pick up or checkout at Pelham Road Branch only. Return passes to Pelham Road.
  • Patrons must present pass along with checkout receipt to get free museum admission.
  • Programs eligible for free admission are Afternoon Explorations and Summer Adventure. Pass does not include entry to Friday Starry Nights. Visit ropermountain.org/public for program dates and times.

The Children's Museum Dreamer Pass

  • One-time use pass admits a family of five. Must include one child.
  • Checkout is for one week with no renewals.
  • Must be checked out on a Greenville County Adult or Non-Resident Adult card.
  • Reserve for same-day pick up by calling 864-527-9213 or checkout at Hughes Main Library only. Return passes to Hughes Main Library.
  • Patrons must present pass along with checkout receipt to get free museum admission.

Upcountry History Museum Family Pass

  • One-time use pass admits two adults and up to four children.
  • Checkout is for one week with no renewals.
  • Must be checked out on a Greenville County Adult or Non-Resident Adult card.
  • Reserve for same-day pick up by calling 864-527-9213 or checkout at Hughes Main Library only. Return passes to Hughes Main Library.
  • Patrons must present pass along with checkout receipt to get free museum admission.

State Park Passport

  • Pass admits one-day use vehicle into any SC state park.
  • Can be used to visit multiple parks during loan period.
  • Checkout is for one week with no renewals.
  • Must be checked out on a Greenville County Adult or Non-Resident Adult card.
  • Reserve for same-day pick up or checkout at any library branch. Passes must be returned to the branch where they were checked out.
  • Passes do not come with a backpack, binoculars, or magnifying glass.

How does it work?

  • Anyone with a Greenville County Library System Adult Card or Non-Resident Adult Card can check out a museum or state park pass.
  • Passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Renewals and holds are not available.
  • Patrons who want to place same-day phone reservations must call during Library System operating hours and have library accounts that are in good standing.
  • Heritage Green Museum Passes can only be checked out at the Hughes Main Library. Roper Mountain Science Center Passes can only be checked out at the Pelham Road Branch. Patrons must present pass along with checkout receipt to get free museum admission.
  • Overdue fines are $1/day ($10 max). Full replacement costs are charged for passes that are 30+ days overdue.
