About Summer Reading
Each year, the Library System plans a summer filled with reading challenges, special events, and of course, great prizes! Check back in spring of 2026 for more information about our next Summer Reading challenge. In the meantime, see below for information about our most recent Summer Reading challenges and prizes.
How It Works
READ
- Kids: Read for 6 hours OR 24 books. Audiobooks count too
- Teens: Read for 6 hours. Audiobooks count too
- Babies: Complete 10 Palmetto Basics activities
LOG YOUR HOURS
- Use Beanstack to track your reading and complete GCLS reading challenges!
- Create a Beanstack account
- Download the Beanstack app on your Apple or Android device
- Beanstack Help
- Download the Baby log or Kids & Teens log, or pick up an activity log at any library location

All (ages 0–17)
- Ticket voucher to the Greenville Drive Reading All-Stars game on Sunday, Aug 9
- Greenville Drive Reading All-Stars hat (only available at Greenville Drive All-Stars game)

- Parade of Champions begins at 2p; First Pitch at 3p.
- Pick up your free RAS hat at the Field Street entrance prior to the game.
- Be sure to sign up for a chance to participate in game day activities when you redeem your ticket voucher at greenvilledrive.com/RAS.
