Get ready for a star-spangled summer of fun, all you have to do is read! The Greenville County Library System's 2026 Summer Reading Challenge promotes reading all summer long with fun events for all ages and great prizes. Early registration opens May 13.

  • May 1 – Summer Reading t-shirts go on sale (while supplies last)
  • May 13 – Early registration opens
  • May 27 – Summer Reading begins
  • Aug 1 – Summer Reading ends. Last day to pick up prizes
  • Aug 9 – Greenville Drive Reading All-Stars game

Shirt ordering begins May 1 while supplies last. Summer Reading t-shirts are $15 each.

READ

  • Kids: Read for 6 hours OR 24 books. Audiobooks count too
  • Teens: Read for 6 hours. Audiobooks count too
  • Babies: Complete 10 Palmetto Basics activities

LOG YOUR HOURS

  • Use Beanstack to track your reading and complete GCLS reading challenges!
  • Download the Baby log or Kids & Teens log, or pick up an activity log at any library location
