Borrowing Basics

• 21 days • Most books, graphic novels, audiobooks, music CDs, VOX^™ Books, and Playaways^®
• 14 days • New releases, magazines, holiday books, Teaching Kits, and board games
• 7 days • DVDs, Playaway Launchpads, museum and park passes

Most items with no holds will be automatically renewed twice if the borrower's account is current and in good standing. Most items may be returned to any Greenville County Library System location regardless of where they were checked out with the exception of board games, museum passes, and park passes.

Limits vary with library card type.

• 50 books
• 10 each of adult, teen, and juvenile audiobooks, DVDs, magazines, and music CDs
• 4 each of Playaways, VOX Books
• 2 each of Playaway Launchpads, Teaching Kits, board games
• 1 each of museum pass, state park pass

Overdue items • 20¢ per day with $6 maximum for most materials

Overdue 30+ days • Full replacement cost of item

Lost or damaged materials • Full replacement cost of item or cost to replace individual parts, packaging and/or accessories. Replacement copies will not be accepted.

Interlibrary loans (ILL) • $1 per day for overdue items

Returned checks• $36 handling and processing fee

Accounts that owe $10 or more • Borrowing privileges suspended

Accounts with lost items that owe $25 or more • Referred to collection agency; additional $10 fee

Accessing your library account online lets you:

• View and renew checked out items
• Place holds
• Opt in to save reading history
• Opt in to receive email or text notifications
• Pay fines and fees

You will need your library card and PIN numbers to log in to your account. Your library card number is located on the back of your library card. The PIN is usually the last four digits of your phone number. If you can’t remember your PIN number, ask a Librarian.
