Library Cards for Kids
For minors ages 0-17, a parent or legal guardian must complete and sign an application. The parent or legal guardian must also provide their photo ID and proof of current residence (see approved documentation above). Aquí está la solicitud en español para una tarjeta bibliotecaria.
Introducing the Little Learners library card for kids ages four years and under. With this card, you can check out up to 20 children's books and 10 children's music CDs for your little one.
Kids ages 5-12 get a free canvas tote bag with their first library card!

We offer the following tours and programs for groups of 10 or more. Please call to schedule at least two weeks in advance. Call 864-527-9248 to schedule a Main tour or program. Call the location desired for a branch tour or program.
Please have the following information available when you call:
- Name of the school or group
- Name, phone number and email of the group's primary contact person
- Expected number of attendees
- Age range of the group
- Primary, plus alternative date and time preference
- Name of tour or program (see descriptions below)

Dress Your Teacher!
Want to make sure that your students pay attention to the facts presented during their library visit? Participate in Dress Your Teacher. At the conclusion of a program/tour students will be quizzed on facts presented. For each correct response their teacher will have to don a piece of wacky clothing (jumbo sunglasses, boa, hat, etc.). Sure to be a fun time for all!
Dr. Seuss Tour
Children search for Dr. Seuss's characters as they explore the library. 30 min. (K5-2nd grade)
Explore the Library
This tour is customizable to fit group interests. 15 min-1 hour (K4-12th grade)
Stories, music and movement activities. 30 min. (K3-5th grade)
Sensory Story Time
An inclusive program for children who are on the autism spectrum or are differently abled. Please contact us in advance to schedule your program and to let us know how we can accommodate your group.
Behind the Scenes Tour
Get a glimpse of how new materials are prepared for checkout, the computer room, SC Room archives and more. 75 min. (5th grade and up)
Computer Lab / Reference Tour
Library staff will guide students in accessing the quality resources and services offered by the Greenville County Library System. Sessions can be tailored to student needs. 1.5 hours (5th grade and up)
This is a look-and-find adventure. 30 min. (3rd-5th grade)
