Children's Tours

Please note: Children's tours, programs, and outreach are suspended indefinitely.

Visit the Library! Schedule a custom story time or choose from one of these tours that we offer to individuals and groups of all ages. Available for groups of 10 or more.

Want to make sure that your students pay attention to the facts presented during their library visit? Participate in Dress Your Teacher. At the conclusion of a program/tour students will be quizzed on facts presented. For each correct response their teacher will have to don a piece of wacky clothing (jumbo sunglasses, boa, hat, etc.). Sure to be a fun time for all!

Children search for Dr. Seuss's characters as they explore the library. 30 min. (K5-2nd grade)

This tour is customizable to fit group interests. 15 min-1 hour (K4-12th grade)

Stories, music and movement activities. 30 min. (K3-5th grade)

 

Available at Hughes Main Library

 

An inclusive program for children who are on the autism spectrum or are differently abled. Please contact us in advance to schedule your program and to let us know how we can accommodate your group.

Get a glimpse of how new materials are prepared for checkout, the computer room, SC Room archives and more. 75 min. (5th grade and up)

Library staff will guide students in accessing the quality resources and services offered by the Greenville County Library System. Sessions can be tailored to student needs. 1.5 hours (5th grade and up)

This is a look-and-find adventure. 30 min. (3rd-5th grade)

Call to schedule your tour at least two weeks in advance.

 

Please have the following information available when you call:

  • Name of the school or group
  • Name, phone number, and email of the group's primary contact person
  • Expected number of attendees
  • Age range of the group
  • Primary, plus alternative date and time preference
  • Name of tour or program
