Join the Friends
The Friends of the Greenville County Library System is a non-profit volunteer organization that raises funds to enhance library programs and services. This year the Friends have committed more than $80,000 in financial support for critical items such as children’s programs and equipment, employee scholarship assistance, and the library’s Access newsletter. Money is raised through used book sales, grants, membership dues and the Friends Gift Shop.
Your membership in the Friends and your purchases at the Friends Used Book Sales and the Friends Shop help to ensure our continued support for the library. Individual membership in the Friends costs as little as $15 per year, with discounted membership rates for students and seniors. By joining the Friends, you are entitled to:
- Receive the Library System's calendar of events in the mail
- Attendance at members-only opening nights of the Friends Book Sales
- Receive a 10% discount on all purchases at the Friends Shop in the Hughes Main Library
