Palmetto Statesmen Chapter

The Palmetto Statesmen is the Greenville and Spartanburg, SC area Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society or, historically, the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, with the acronym SPEBSQSA. The chapter has a long history; it is the oldest chapter in South Carolina. It participates in the District of the Society called the Dixie District which supports barbershop chapters and quartets in six Southeastern states.

The Palmetto Statesmen are an approximately 55 man chorus that sings songs of many different varieties in the Barbershop style. Within the chorus are several Barbershop Quartets. The Palmetto Statesmen are under the musical leadership of John LaBosco. The group meets every Tuesday at 7:00 pm at Greer Methodist Church, 201 North Main Street,Greer, SC
