The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum
The website of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, Kansas City, Mo. Founded
in 1990, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum is dedicated to preserving the
rich history of African-American baseball. The website features many historical
and educational resources. The Museum also offers several traveling exhibitions.

The Negro League Baseball Players’ Association
The Negro League Baseball Players’ Association exists to honor and celebrate
the significant contribution of Negro Leagues players to baseball and American
history, to collect and preserve that history, to educate others so that
Negro League players may be a source of pride and inspiration for generations
to come, and to support and promote the general and financial well being
of former Negro Leagues players.

The Society for American Baseball Research
The mission of the Society for American Baseball Research is to foster the
study of baseball past and present, and to provide an outlet for educational,
historical and research information about the game. The society’s Negro Leagues
Committee was formed in 1971 in an effort to research and preserve the history
of blacks in baseball before the re-integration of the game, and to support
efforts to give them recognition.

Major League Baseball’s website contains a special section devoted to the Negro
Leagues’ Legacy, with many player and teams profiles and interviews, audio

“The Home of Baseball History” features extensive information on Negro league
players, and Christopher Renino’s The Way Home, a novelized account of Jackie
Robinson’s first year in the major leagues as seen through the eyes Vincent
Stigiano, a batboy with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
The Jackie Robinson Foundation
The website of the Jackie Robinson Foundation, which was founded by Jackie’s
wife, Rachel Robinson, in 1973 as a vehicle to perpetuate the memory of Jackie
Robinson and his achievements. Serving as an advocate for young people with
the greatest need, the Foundation assists increasing numbers of minority youths
through the granting of four-year scholarships for higher education.
The Jackie Robinson Educational Archives
“The Jackie Robinson Educational Archives” website is the result of a year-long
program at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, celebrating the 50th anniversary
of Jackie Robinson breaking the major league baseball race barrier. The initiative
featured two academic courses, guest speakers, exhibits, and a lecture series.
Thousands of primary materials were gathered for use in the program and videotaped
interviews were held with each guest speaker and other key figures in Robinson’s
life. This website makes many of these materials available to the public.
Fantasy Baseball Heaven
Free fantasy baseball site in which players can field teams including greatest
players from the Negro Leagues, Hall of Famers, and past and current Major
League Baseball starts.
Martin Dihigo
Website in Spanish about Negro leagues star from Cuba, Martin Dihigo. Dihigo
first played for the Cuban Stars (East) in 1923. He was one of the most versatile
ballplayers who every played the game, being adept at all nine positions on
the field. He led the Negro leagues in home runs in 1926 and 1935.

The Negro Leagues
This web site by Kansas Unified School District 230 is dedicated to the men
and the families who played, coached, and ran Negro League Baseball from 1885
to 1960.
Pride and Passion: The African-American Baseball Experience,
a traveling exhibition for libraries, was organized by the National Baseball
Hall of Fame and Museum, Cooperstown, New York, and the American Library
Association Public Programs Office, Chicago. The traveling exhibition
has been made possible by a major grant from the National Endowment for
the Humanities: great ideas brought to life.
The traveling exhibition is based on an exhibition of the same
name on permanent display at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
