November 6 and November 7 Hughes Main Library Readers, writers and poetry enthusiasts are invited to enjoy a two-part poetry experience with prose poet Louis Jenkins! Author of thirteen books and winner of the 2005 Minnesota Book Award, Louis Jenkins will discuss poetry and host a poetry critique at the library. Poetry in PersonFriday, November 6, 7:00p-8:30p Hughes Main Library, Meeting Rooms A-C Join the library in welcoming Minnesotan prose poet Louis Jenkins for a public reading of his unique work. He is considered by many to be a contemporary master of the form and a great wit of the north. Books will be offered for sale and signing. Call 527-9293. Poetry in PracticeSaturday, November 7, 10:00a-12:00p Hughes Main Library, Meeting Room A Writers are invited to participate in a two-hour workshop and poem critique with our guest. Participants should bring one poem for discussion, which the library will copy for the group. The cost to attend is $25, to be paid in advance. Space is limited. Call 527-9293 to register.
