Built in 1812, Gilreath's Mill was built and operated by Joel Bruce on land he owned between 1801-1840. At first, this two-story mill was a corn mill, but after 1890, it became a flour mill. Washington Taylor bought this mill in 1873, and then in 1890, P.D. Gilreath became the owner of the mill. Gilreath's Mill remains in the ownership of the Gilreath family even today.

Directions:
Depart from Heritage Green Place. Turn left onto Buncombe Street. The name will change to East North Street. Proceed to Church Street (Hwy 29) and turn left onto Church Street. Church Street will run into Wade Hampton Blvd (still Hwy 29). Proceed to Greer. Turn left on Hwy. 101 and the mill will be several miles on the left. The words P.D. Gilreath are written on the door of the mill.
