Childrens Area MainThe Children's Area of the Hughes Main Library features:

  • Books, magazines, videos and DVDs, CD-ROMs, audio books and music on both tape and CD, foreign language materials and board books
  • 20 computers with children's preloaded games, word processing, DISCUS, and Internet access
  • A nursing room that includes a diaper changing station
  • Two programming rooms for story times and class visits
  • A wall with the words "Explore Your World" written in 13 different languages that are spoken in the Upstate

You and your child will visit six learning stations (music, crafts, etc.) where you will work together to perform activities that will provide your child with pre-reading skills.
