DiscusAcademic OneFile -- One-stop source for millions of peer-reviewed, scholarly full-text articles in HTML and PDF formats from over 8,000 of the world's leading academic journals and reference sources. Comprehensively covers the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and other subjects. Multimedia feature includes podcasts and transcripts from NPR, CNN, and the CBC, as well as full-text New York Times content to 1995.


DiscusEducator’s Reference Complete -- Educator’s Reference Complete, with more than 1,100 periodicals and 200 reports (primarily full-text), covers multiple levels of education from preschool to college and every educational specialty, such as technology, bilingual education, health education, testing, administration, funding and policy. The majority of the database’s titles include those also covered in the ERIC database.


DiscusOneFile 1980 to current -- One-stop source for news and periodical articles on a wide range of topics: business, computers, current events, economics, education, environmental issues, health care, hobbies, humanities, law, literature and art, politics, science, social science, sports, technology, and many general interest topics. Millions of full-text articles many with images. Updated daily.


SCOIS.Net -- South Carolina Occupational Information System Essential data on careers, salaries, financial aid, education and job opportunities, including military, apprenticeships, post-secondary, trade and vocational programs. Details about hundreds of occupations, scholarship information for all US colleges and universities and links to each school. Download college application forms. Use the Username, Password, and SiteID from your school, get login info in My Account or call Reference, 527-9242. Available only at library locations.


DiscusSIRS KnowledgeSource -- A combination of databases providing full-text articles from a wide variety of sources for a diverse age range of users. Subject areas include the social sciences, government, sciences, the arts, and others.


Testing & Education Reference Center -- Taking a college entrance or licensing exam? Looking for a college or graduate school? Need help finding scholarships? Use this database to search thousands of college and graduate school entries. Identify scholarships that meet their financial needs. Take on-line practice tests and use test prep eBooks to obtain your education goals.

CareerOneStop -- An integrated suite of national web sites sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor that help businesses, job seekers, students, and workforce professionals find employment and career resources. Maps customers to a range of local services including workforce centers, unemployment benefits, job training, education opportunities, and other workforce services -- see America’s Service Locator


Employment Projections homepage -- U.S. Department of Labor site providing links to the annual Occupational Outlook Handbook, other employment projections publications and analyses and detailed statistics.


ERIC -- Free access to more than 1.2 million bibliographic records of journal articles and other education-related materials and, if available, includes links to full text. ERIC is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, Institute of Education Sciences (IES).


FastWeb -- Free searchable database of over 180,000 scholarships, grants, loans and fellowships.


FinAid -- A list containing a variety of financial aid resources available on the Web. Especially helpful for identifying postings of actual sources of funding are the "Scholarship and Fellowship Databases." Also of interest are bibliographies of financial aid information under the heading "Free Documents," and the connections to federal government sources of aid under "Free Information from the US Government."


Job-Hunt.Org -- A clearinghouse of web links, by category or location, for web job sites where you can search for a job and/or leave a copy of your resume and Web sites which provide information and support useful in the job-search process.


International Comparisons in Education -- Indicators and assessments for cross-national comparisons of education with comparable measures of schools and education, from student enrollment and teacher salaries to graduation rates.
